St Leodegar's church lies at the end of Church Lane. There has probably been a church here since the 12th century, but the present building was erected in 1885. A brief history of the church is available HERE.
The Rectory is also situated in Church Lane , and the living includes North Mundham and Merston.

Dear Friends,
I do hope that you have all had a good summer break and are now refreshed and ready for all that lies ahead in the run up to Christmas!
Can I just point out various events happening in St.Leodegar’s Church this autumn. On Sunday, October 3rd at 11am we are having our ‘Harvest Festival’ Service. This will be a Family Service and so suitable for people of all ages and stages. It’s a great chance for us to come together and thank God for all the food, crops and vegetation that he provides for us – very topical as I look out of my study window and see lettuces etc being planted in the field opposite!
On November 14th, Remembrance Sunday, we have our Service of remembrance which begins at 10.50am.
Our Christmas programme is busy as always with the candlelit Carol Service at 6pm on Sunday, December 12th. This is always a very special occasion. The Carol Service will follow a traditional format but the message of Christ’s birth is every bit as relevant for us today as it was some 2000 years ago. We move out of the Church and into the pub (7.30pm) on Thursday, December 23rd, for what has quickly become a much-loved annual event – drinking mulled wine and singing carols as we celebrate Christmas and enjoy the warm hospitality of Joe, Lee and others in the ‘Spotted Cow’. Last year the pub was packed out so if you want a good seat make sure you get there early! On Christmas Eve at 4pm we have our ‘Crib Service’ – very popular for families with young children – and then on Christmas day we have a Communion Service at 9.30am. We’d love to see you at all or any of these Services.
Those then are the major events of Church life over the next four months. However, we’d love to see you at any of our regular Sunday services. The Family Service at 11am on the first Sunday of the month is a particular favourite but, likewise, our 9.30am Communion Services are increasingly well attended – especially now that we have an established and growing Sunday School. If I can help you in any way please do call me on 782003 or email me at:
With every blessing, Revd James Russell
