Parish Council - Welcome |

April 2008 Welcome to the Hunston Parish Council Home page. The aim of this part of the website is to remind the village that the Parish Council exists and to provide an easy way to find out what goes on at our meetings. Pages with the agenda of forthcoming meetings and the minutes of those we’ve held are regularly revised so they are up-to-date. Since first writing for this page in December 2006, there has been an election and currently all but one of the council members are new. We do our best to manage the aspects and areas of the village under our control effectively, efficiently and with limited resources. A vacancy will arise on the Parish Council in May '08, when the current Chairman retires. If you are interested in joining Hunston Parish Council and would like to learn a little more about what we do, please click HERE, or email Carol Smith, the Parish Clerk (05600 793843). Volunteers are needed to serve on Hunston Village Hall Management Committee. We are looking for someone to take over as Treasurer from April '09, when the current Treasurer retires. We need someone immediately to support our Secretary, whose work is increasingly taking him out of the country. We are also looking for someone to take over the job of Lettings Officer in April '09, when our current lady retires. Please don't wait until the last minute if you are interested in any of these positions. There will probably need to be a handover period of a few months, so everyone feels comfortable before taking over. Please contact either Gwen Mackett (01243 771888) or Jeremy Carroll (01243 780004) for more information. The good thing about volunteering is that it is fun to do things with other people, get to know each other and achieve something together. None of us would claim every second is fun, but nearly all of it is interesting and everything is done for the benefit of the village. If you volunteer and give your time for free, you only do what you're prepared to do. So please think about it and find out a bit more about the positive side of volunteering before dismissing the idea. We hope to be hearing from you. Jeremy Carroll (Chairman, Hunston Parish Council)
